She’s fought death and won. But how can she fight her fears?

Avry knows hardship and trouble. She fought the plague and survived. She took on King Tohon and defeated him. But now her heart-mate, Kerrick, is missing, and Avry fears he’s gone forever.

But there’s a more immediate threat: The Skeleton King plots to claim the Fifteen Realms for his own. With armies in disarray and the dead not staying down, Avry’s healing powers are needed now more than ever.

Torn between love and loyalty, Avry must choose her path carefully. For the future of her world depends on her decision

I am now just getting around to writing a review for this book. SORRY that it is yet again another short one with not so much detail but then again its the last book in the trilogy so I would hate to give out spoilers!

It again follows Avry and Kerrick’s POV as they try to stop multiple armies from taking over the country. It was again a fast paced book and I didn’t want to put it down. Avry is a stubborn and kick-ass heroine yet again. She doesn’t complain and she doesn’t whine which thank god! She will tell the truth and won’t hide behind lies and half-truths. Kerrick kinda disappears for most of the book but when he is present he is strong but overprotective. Tohon is a bad-ass enemy but an extremely smart one though misguided. We finally meet the Skeleton King who was beyond creepy and such a dark character but he made a very brief cameo (which was weird but whatever). All the secondary characters were great and I loved that they were again part of the pack of Avry and Kerrick (once he showed up).

The ending left it sorta open that there could be another book but probably not. I mean look at her Poison Study series! I wish we had more of an epilogue where it was like 5 years down the road from recovering to see what has happened since the rebirth of the country. But alas I will just have to make up my own ending. Overall, a great way to end a fantastic series that I am soooo glad I picked up!
